2014 Leadership Award Recipient — Paula Delahanty

Paula is a recognized leader in Maine, and has been particularly effective throughout the state in developing and implementing the Maine Nurse Core Competencies for employers. She has presented the work to several facilities and plans to present to others. Paula is very involved with the work of OMNE and MPNEP. She also is paving a path for RNs to get their BSNs through offering St. Joseph's College classes at Pen Bay and supporting other RNs to get their masters degrees. Paula is leading a Task Force for Maine Health CNOs to develop innovative strategies to increase the number of MSN-prepared clinical faculty. She recently was part of a panel presentation for the Me-OADN group. I cannot speak to her role at Pen Bay, but I am confident that she is very effective in her position.
